HVAC Design New Zealand can provide H1 Compliance Reports for Building Envelope Thermal Performance.
Significant changes have been made to the H1 section of the building code which impacts: architects, manufacturers, suppliers, builders and homeowners. This will impact any building consents lodged after 2 November 2022.
The changes go as far as is practical and achievable using current insulation products and construction design and practices to create better quality homes and buildings for New Zealand with less impact on the environment. Updates aim to reduce energy needed to heat and cool new buildings.
There are some groups who see these changes as too light, however, they are a minimum standard and any specifier can design a building with increased standards to reduce heating and cooling demand even further.
